patrickbeeson.com launches
Entry updated Feb. 12, 2008 at 6:43 p.m.
The redesigned patrickbeeson.com is now live, minor CSS and template bugs notwithstanding. And the word on the street is baseline grid. And Movable Type 4. And pink.
OK, maybe not pink. But I've used it anyway (#cc0088).
My impetus with the new home for all things "Patrick Beeson" was to experiment with building a site in a grid-like manner while holding to the baseline. I believe I've accomplished this goal, or come damn near close.
I also wanted to get back to my punk(ish) roots with a domain that wouldn't confuse people -- "huffyinthestreet" was awkward to explain if you didn't happen to be at a Red Lobster table in Roanoke several years ago -- and maintain a home base for my Web efforts going forward.
I plan to keep this site basic, with content focused on me and mine. There will be another site launching very soon that will lead the charge in my analysis of the newspapers.
Because that's a whole 'nother subject entirely.
But for those of you that enjoyed the entries I posted on "huffyinthestreet," keep your RSS readers refreshed. I plan to continue writing about journalism, media, Web standards, Web development, blogging and my passion for all things cycling.
I'll get my contact form up-and-going as soon as I can, but in the meantime you can leave me feedback on the new site using the comment form below. (Thanks to MT4 it accepts OpenID, Vox, Movable Type native, and anonymous logins.)
